Burglar Alarms Security Systems
Trying to decide which burglar alarm security system to go with can be a difficult task because there are so many out there. There are some that are regional and some that are national. Some of the systems only work on a few cities while others run advertisements nation wide and run in every corner of the country. Trying to decide which to go with is very difficult. However, this guide should make it a little easier to determine which burglar alarm security system you want to get.
UL or ULC Approved
The Underwriter’s Laboratory or Underwriter’s Laboratory Canada are two groups that set high standards of service for security companies. These security companies have to meet certain levels of requirements because they are given this UL or ULC license. If the company you’re considering doing business with has either of these, there’s a good chance that they are much more legitimate. It’s like a testimonial that this company is good at security.
Locally Owned or Nationally Owned
There are some that would suggest it is good to go with one of the large, nationally owned companies because they have so much experience dealing with security. However, then there are those that suggest going locally means the business owner has a personal desire to do a fantastic job. Because they live in the same community, they don’t want their neighbors to lose out. Deciding which to go with, though, is entirely up to the individual purchasing the security. However, locally owned means that the employees are local. Since everyone has the community’s best interest at heart, they are more likely to work more effectively.
Full Service Company
There is no way that a customer should have to contact a third party company to troubleshoot a problem with their security system. Many companies handle all of the aspects of the business: sales, installation, monitoring, etc. However, there are some that outsource some of these services, most specifically, the monitoring. When deciding which company to get, ensure you sign with a company that is a full service company. If they are doing all of their own work, getting help to fix something is a lot easier than if they are outsourcing to other companies.
Entire Day Service
Because burglars operate at all different times, Sunday through Saturday, 24/7, it is important that the company you choose is available 24/7 as well. If something happens to your security device, you don’t want to wait until the next business day because they are closed. If a company doesn’t offer 24/7 service, there’s a good chance that they are not a reputable company and it is advised not to do business with them.
Insurance
During installation, if the company makes a mistake and damages the house, it is a good feeling to know that they have insurance to cover it. Before signing with any company, ask to see their insurance policy to ensure that, if anything goes wrong, you are covered and you don’t have to pay to repair it.
